This Policy explains what personal data the SHER social network (sherlife.net) processes, for what purposes, on what legal bases, with whom it is shared, and what rights you have. By using SHER, you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy.
The controller of personal data is the operator of the SHER service, owner of the sherlife.net website. For any privacy questions or to exercise your rights: privacy@sherlife.net.
• Account data: email, username, password (stored as a hash). • Profile data: name, bio, avatar, gender, date of birth. • User content: posts (photos and videos), comments, likes, follows, reports, and blocks. • Technical data: IP address, session and cookie data, device tokens for push notifications, error logs.
Directly from you — when you sign up, fill in your profile, publish content, or contact us. Automatically — when you use the service (IP address, cookies/sessions, technical logs, push tokens).
We process data on the following bases (Art. 6 GDPR): • Performance of a contract (providing the service): registration, sign-in, profile, posts, feeds, follows. • Consent: push notifications, optional cookies, sending emails where required. • Legitimate interest: security, protection against abuse and spam, moderation of reports, error diagnostics, service improvement. • Legal obligation: responding to lawful requests and complying with applicable duties.
We use service providers (processors) acting on our instructions: • S3 object storage — storing media files. • Email delivery provider — sending service emails (verification, password reset). • Telegram — sign-in via Telegram. • Sentry — error monitoring and diagnostics. • Apple APNs and Google FCM — delivering push notifications. We do NOT sell your personal data and do NOT "share" it for advertising or cross-context behavioral targeting within the meaning of the CCPA/CPRA.
We store and process data on our service providers' servers and apply organizational and technical safeguards. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on safeguards recognized by applicable law (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses). For data-processing questions, contact us at privacy@sherlife.net.
We keep data for as long as your account exists and as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy. After account deletion, data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for security, dispute resolution, or by law. Technical copies in logs and backups are removed with a delay.
If the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to: access your data; rectification; erasure (the "right to be forgotten"); restriction of processing; data portability; object to processing; and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in your country.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information is collected about you and how it is used; request its deletion; request correction; and opt out of the "sale" and "sharing" of personal information. We do NOT sell or share personal information for advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
SHER is intended only for users aged 13 and over. Sign-up is protected by an age gate based on date of birth. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (in line with COPPA in the US and applicable child-protection rules). If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with data, contact privacy@sherlife.net and we will delete it.
We use strictly necessary cookies and sessions for signing in, security, and storing settings (such as your selected language). Without them the service cannot function properly. You can manage cookies in your browser settings, but this may limit functionality.
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards: passwords are stored as hashes, access to the database and secrets is limited through environment configuration, and connections are protected. No service can guarantee absolute security, so use a strong password and protect access to your account.
Posts, username, avatar, profile bio, comments, and reactions may be visible to other users of the service under the current visibility settings. Do not publish anything you do not want to make available to others.
Users are responsible for the content they publish. We provide moderation tools: reports (Report) and blocks (Block). We may review reports and remove content that breaks our rules or the law. Reports and related data are processed to keep the community safe.
You can delete your account yourself in profile settings. After deletion, your profile and posts become unavailable to other users. Some data may be retained temporarily for reasons of security, dispute resolution, or legal requirements.
We may update this Policy. We will try to notify you of material changes within the service. The current date is shown at the top of the page. By continuing to use SHER after changes take effect, you accept the updated Policy.
